And then there are occasions when being part of fandom actually can make an impact. A little impact, at least. Perhaps?

pinkfinity has set up a community, help_haiti, to auction off panfandom (+ original) stuff to raise money for Haiti, where, as you probably all know by now, a cataclysmic earthquake struck and people are in desperate need of help. Take a look, donate something (art, fic, crafts, music, money, time whatever) if you can, spread the word if you can't?

Or just donate to the Red Cross or Medecins sans frontieres or what-have-you directly if you're not into all this fandomy stuff. Whatever, really.
