They were, when Saoirse Ronan was still slated to play the character who now evolved into Tauriel, going to call her Itaril, which would make no sense for a wood-elf at all, so I'm rather relieved they changed that. It does however make me wonder if that Elros is actually Elros-Elros, rather than random elf #385 who happens to share the name and may not keep it because of similar reasons.

He looks far younger than Elrond, which would feel very strange, given that he's the one meant to age. :o)
