Meanwhile, in the real world...

"Oh, your contractions are already pretty regular," quoth my gyn, "you're probably feeling them, too?"

Um, no. Not really. I had plenty of time (30 minutes :P) to observe the CTG printout, and there are indeed contractions very well visible every 5-6 minutes, but when lying down, I don't feel the least bit. When I am standing or sitting upright, I feel the hardened muscle, but only then, and nothing more.

"Well," says she, "once they turn into labour you'll notice - you definitely won't sleep through it."

You're the doc, doc.

So! Mathematically, exactly one week to go.
Aside from assuring me that I'll know when it's happening, the gyn also declared while she couldn't say when the birth would start, that once it had started, it wouldn't last ages - everything is apparently "ripe" and as prepared as can be without actually being in progress. So that's good. Doppler sonography showed that Offspring's sustenance is guaranteed for at least two more weeks (because apparently changes/trouble with the umbilical cord/placenta cast their "shadow" about 14 days in advance), so if he decides to marinade a bit longer, that's fine as well. He is now (again, mathematically) 49 cm "tall" and weighs 3240 grams, so there should be no size trouble (for the time being!) either.

I, meanwhile, am now weighing 80.1 kg. Whoa. XD

And because how often do you get to gain 20 kg in 9 months and brag about it?, here's another bump picture. Who knows how long I'll be able to take them now ;)

You seem to be holding on well, I was bent over by that stage. Oh, yes, it must be exciting, now it's a bit of sit and wait. You will know when you're in labor, definitely! But from your doctor's assessment you may be in for a textbook delivery and be allowed back home in no time.

Marinade? Yuk! ;o)

The 20 kilos, don't worry, they come off easily with the first one. Breastfeeding will do wonders, if you'r planning to go down that route and keep it going for a while.

Please keep us posted, and let's have cute pics of baby as soon as you feel up to it!

Only as long as I have chances to recuperate ;) And for some reason, long-ish car drives absolutely don't agree with me: More than an hour in a car and I'll be pooped and miserable for the rest of the day. No idea why that is!

I do hope for the textbook delivery! But I'm preparing to take it as it comes. Not that I have a choice anyway...

You don't like marinade? Aww, I know such lovely barbecue recipes with different marinades... ;)

You know me, more likely that I just won't be able to SHUT UP and stop pestering you with picspams! XD
