In less accomplished news, this comic here is giving me such horrible fandom crack ideas. I mean, it totally works for Alqualondë/Losgar, too. ("Fry the chips." - "..." - "THE CHIPS! DAMN YOU! NOT THE SHIPS!")

(Oh dear. It's like a mash-up of "Verdammte Brandstifter!" and the Potato thing, isn't it.)

ROFL, that's great, and also I love your icon!

I recall a German language version of Snow White and the Seven Dwarves I watched a couple of years ago, which had rather a number of misheard-word plays like that.

Oh dear! Would that have been 7 Zwerge - Männer allein im Wald, by any chance?

Yes, I believe that was it. I found it silly, but amusing. I enjoyed finding that my German was still good enough to follow most of the dialogue.

Yeah, it's extremely silly (unfortunately, that type of humour is hugely popular over here), and I'm kind of embarrassed that something like that represents us over where you are! (On the other hand, our idea of American humour is shaped by stuff like Scary Movie, so... I guess it evens out. ;))
But of course it's nice as a listening comprehension check. If you got most of the jokes, your passive German must still be quite good!
