olorielNachdem im letzten Jahr ja ein paar Politiker meinten, es wäre gut für die Wirtschaft, ein paar Feiertage zu streichen/ aufs Wochenende zu verlegen (komischerweise hat die Schweiz doppelt so viele Feiertage, aber eine gesündere Wirtschaft, während im letzten Jahr bei uns die Wirtschaft hinkte, die Feiertage aber sowieso fast alle aufs Wochenende fielen), wollte ich sowieso schon seit einer Weile dafür plädieren, dass wir zumindest im LJ umso mehr bekloppte Feiertage brauchen.

crisper, am 27. Januar den Kaninchenlochtag zu feiern, da an diesem Tag Lewis Caroll, der Autor von Alice im Wunderland, geboren wurde.

Wird mit Ulysses-Lesen (na danke), Kneipentouren und edwardianischen Kostümen gefeiert. Oder mit stream-of-consciousness LJ-Einträgen. (gefunden durch Wikipedia, Zusatz vonseefuchs)

Letzter Freitag im Juli - Nationaler Im-Aufzug-Rede-Tag. Wir wissen alle (spätestens seit Mittermeier), dass Aufzüge eine große Schweigezone sind. Am letzten Freitag im Juli soll dieses Schweigen gebrochen werden. So einfach ist das.
Letzter Mittwoch im August: Tomatina. Man bewirft sich mit überreifen Tomaten. Ein wunderbar sinnloser Feiertag! (Danke anvashachu)

Dafür können wir den total bekloppten japanischen Feiertag der Pokki-Knabberstangen (bei uns heißen die Dinger Mikado, aber da das zu leicht mit dem Spiel verwechselt wird, bleiben wir beim Originalnamen...) feiern. Warum am 11.11.? Weil das Datum aussieht wie vier nebeneinander liegende Knabberstangen, is doch klar.

Last year, some German politicians suggested to kill some holidays or fix them to weekend days because that supposedly should help the economy. (Strangely, Switzerland has twice as many holidays, but a healthier economy, whereas German economy was lousy last year, but most holidays were on weekends anyway). From then on, I always meant to have all the more crazy holidays on LJ.
The reason why I post this now is this suggestion bycrisper to have Rabbit Hole Day on Jan. 27th, because that's Lewis Caroll's birthday.
And now I call for further suggestions! The list, so far:

Last Friday in July - National Talk In Elevators Day. As we all know, people tend to be all silent in elevators. On this one day, the silence is to be broken. As simple as that.
