Highway to Armenelos

olorielI love thunderstorms. I also like rain.
What I don't like is when it's late at night and I have to drive home through the rain and the highways are covered with about three cm of water. Because three cm are quite a lot, really, and the lorries push waves of three meters to the side. One such lorry overtook me, and the wave collapsed over my car. I was without sight or orientation for about five seconds, nothing but water all around. Five seconds are a loooong time when you're going with 80 km/h on the highway and you don't have the slightest idea what's going on ahead, behind and on the side of you. I please don't ever want to try this again.

Ich liebe Gewitter. Und ich mag Regen.
Was ich nicht mag, ist, mitten in der Nacht durch den Regen heimfahren zu müssen, wenn das Wasser auf den Autobahnen schon drei Zentimeter hochsteht. Weil drei Zentimeter nämlich ziemlich viel sind und bedeuten, dass LKWs drei Meter hohe Bugwellen vor sich herspritzen. Mich hat ein LKW überholt, und die Welle ist über meinem Auto zusammengebrochen. Ich war fünf Sekunden lang ohne Sicht oder Orientierung, nichts als Wasser um mich herum. Fünf Sekunden können seeeeehr lang sein, wenn man mit 80 über die Autobahn fährt und plötzlich keine Ahnung hat, was vor, hinter und neben einem passiert. Das möchte ich bitte nicht nochmal ausprobieren.
