Everyone's doing the interest même, and so am I. But to be different, I do it the way it originally showed up rather than letting some generator randomly pick out interests. Yo. Ho.
So, the interest même as stolen from [livejournal.com profile] coppertone:

Look at your LJ "interests" list. If you have fewer than 50, pick every fifth one. If you have between fifty and seventy-five, pick every seventh one. If you have over seventy-five, pick every tenth one. If you have fewer than ten, pick all of them.

List them in an entry & tell us what exactly it is about these things that interests you so.

budo - a.k.a. Asian martial arts. Well, most of them fascinate me. I meant to train a lot of them, and tried at least some (Jûdô, Qwan-ki-do, Karate, Taekwondo, Aikidô, Iaidô, Kyûdô and Kendô). Currently, I'm down to one and a half, but still. They've got far more style than, say, Western boxing or fencing. Yeah.

douglas adams - because he wrote brilliant books and was a genius. Mad, but a genius. 42. 'nuff said.

fan art - because official book illustrations are often less than satisfying if they exist at all. Because there are many talented people out there who manage to illustrate my favourite books so well, or capture characters from films so well, and... yeah. And because I like to do fan art myself. There's also lots of lousy fan art around (mine mostly falls into that category, too), but all in all, it just shows that a book (or movie, yes) is not finished when it's written, but lives on after it has been read and kindles imagination in so many different forms. Heck, even the Queen of Denmark (no, not Hamlet's mum) does LOTR fan art. That validates it, doesn't it?

fëanor - However could I not?

ilúvatar - Lots of Tolkien on my interests list, eh? Yeah. Well. The big guy. The One. Who made everything. Gods are fascinating, that's it.

klugscheißen - 'smart-assing'. Not actually something that interests me, but something I can't help doing. Because if I know something and someone else doesn't, I have to chip my useless knowledge in. Sad but true.

maglor - Oh look, another Tolkien elf. Fëanor's second son and the only one out of seven to actually survive the Silmarillion, which, we gather, is quite a feat. Running around on beaches, singing sad songs. Never officially died, so he's probably still doing it. Unless he's living in the catacombs of the Opera Populaire in Paris. But that's more Daeron's style.

nightcrawler - because fuzzy blue elf = love. End of story.

procrastination - again, not actually something that fascinates me, but something that's a habit of mine. Alas.

schmirgel beach - 'sandpaper beach'. Its actual name is Champs Bay. It's a yuppie beach in South Africa. On the day we were there, the winds were blowing down from Table Mountain to the sea, so the beach was empty. It was pretty, and we stayed there for a while just to take photos of the waves fighting against the wind and crashing onto the beach in slow-mo, but the wind blew the sand against our legs as if it were trying to emerize the skin off. Hence, sandpaper beach.

soundtracks - because the music is important to movies. Old movies often have sucky soundtracks, which annoy me to no end. Like, soundtracks that just make random creepy sounds to let you know that something bad is going to happen. Or dramatic drumrolling for stress. Boooh. I was raised on opera, for Eru's sake. I like symphonic orchestral soundtracks. John Williams rockses my sockses. So do Hans Zimmer and Howard Shore and... yeah. Anyone able of producing a decent orchestral score, really.

terry pratchett - Because I like his kind of humour. And he writes brilliant books. 's all.

traïdis - The capital of a world that [livejournal.com profile] seefuchs invented. And will hopefully publish a novel on. Because it rockses. Oh, and we RPGed there some. Which was brilliant, too. *nods* Traïdis forever! Let's land a shuttle on the Capitàn!

x-wing series - The Star Wars EU is, as a rule, good. And the X-wing series is an extremely enjoyable read. I must admit that I even like Stackpole's writing. And yes, I had a crush on Corran Horn some time in the past. I was glad everytime he returned from the dead, honestly!

... and that's that.

Let's land a shuttle on the Capitàn!

Yay!
"He just can't controll himself."
"Yeah, but he can controll all the others."
