olorielI'm supposed to pick my grandmother up for my brother's birthday celebration this afternoon.
Currently, most roads here are blocked; I can't even reach the highway (if I even made it out of the parking space). It's still snowing; Jörg shovelled the driveway an hour ago, and already it's covered with 15cm of snow again. (Time to go out and shovel, totally pointlessly, just so I can go and shovel again in another hour.) If things don't get better by noon, I think my grandmother will have to stay home in clear, snow-less Rhineland. Or I'll have to try to get to her by train. That's going to be interesting, though; the busses currently aren't driving either, and the train station from which I'd get Bonn-wards is 15 minutes away by car (20 by bus, probably 1 1/2 hours on foot). I guess I could try walking to the tiny former main station here (30 minutes on foot), hope that the regional train is still going, take that to Ohligs, and THEN hope that the train to Bonn-Mehlem is still going. It's a lot of ifs and buts, at any rate.

Ich soll heute nachmittag meine Oma abholen, damit sie bei der Geburtstagsfeier meines Bruders dabei sein kann.
Momentan sind hier die meisten Straßen dicht; ich würde nicht mal bis zur Autobahn kommen (wenn ich überhaupt aus der Parklücke käme). Es schneit immer noch; vor einer Stunde hat Jörg draußen Schnee geschippt, und es liegen schon wieder 15cm drauf. (Zeit, nachzuschaufeln, völlig sinnlos, nur damit ich in noch einer Stunde nochmal schaufeln muss.) Wenn das nicht bis Mittag besser wird, muss meine Oma wohl im klaren, schneefreien Rheinland bleiben. Oder ich muss versuchen, sie per Zug zu erreichen. Das dürfte auch interessant werden; die Busse fahren momentan auch nicht, und der Bahnhof, von dem ich überhaupt erst nach Bonn kommen würde, liegt mit dem Auto 15 Minuten entfernt (20 mit dem Bus, zu Fuß wahrscheinlich 1 1/2 Stunden). Ich könnte vielleicht versuchen, zum winzigen Ex-Hauptbahnhof zu latschen (das sind 30 Minuten), dann hoffen, dass der regionale Bummelzug überhaupt fährt, mit dem dann nach Ohligs fahren, und DANN hoffen, dass der Zug nach Bohn-Mehlem nicht schon entgleist ist und das auch in der nächsten Stunde nicht tun wird.
Auf jeden Fall einige wenns und abers.
