*poke* Is this thing on?
Sep. 15th, 2006 10:06 amHah!
I have internet.
Or rather, Isa has. Isa is a former schoolmate who now studies in Canada, and we're staying at her place until next Thursday. Poor girl ;).
Accordingly, I'm slightly annoyed that Joerg and his mother are complaining because Isa (and her boyfriend) are still sleeping. Yes, there's only one key because the boyfriend forgot his, so we have to talk about who wants to go where when. Yes, they (meaning Joerg and Ingrid) have been sleeping since midnight, meaning they're awake and eager to go since 8. Yes, they want breakfast. Yes, we're Isa's guests. However, Isa's boyfriend didn't arrive until sometime around 3 am, so they didn't get to bed any earlier. We're three people and it's damn nice of her to let us share her flat for the next week, because even if friendship "commands" a certain hospitality, I don't think that extends to the friend's boyfriend's mother - or three people. The problem wouldn't exist if the boyfriend - Mark, so I don't have to type boyfriend all the time, which invariably ends up being bozfriend first because of the American keyboard - hadn't forgotten his keys, but what can you do. At any rate, I find it highly annoying that Joerg and Ingrid are all whiny now because wah, it's impolite. Isn't it also impolite to go to bed while the host is still up and about and waiting for a boyfriend? I dunno, perhaps my set of manners is completely differenthaving been installed after the 1980s rather than before the 1970s :P, but I'd think you can't only demand indulgence and grant none yourself. Especially when you said that Isa should act like we weren't even there to keep the inconvenience for her minimal, and when she said we should feel free to help ourselves, food-wise. Well, now the two of them have gone out to have breakfast somewhere, and I'm here to let them back in or whatever.
Me? I'm fine with that. It gave me the time to catch up with my e-mails, get my weekly dose of Fëanor/Erestor, and watch Isa's ferret Jaws conquer my luggage. Oh, and write this, obviously. Anyone online and willing to entertain me further? :D
