It is November 30th, and the weather has finally cooled down.

Today, they hung up a Phantom-of-the-Opera chandelier-sized Advent wreath in the company foyer. They put up a Christmas tree in the entrance hall of the university, too. I think I should really think about what to give people for Christmas.

It seems that everything I say about university at the moment is complaints, but it can't be helped.
My presentation partner and me were supposed to interview someone's bloody cousins for our project this Friday. Now the cousins don't have time on Friday, so it was supposed to be done on Wednesday. But the someone couldn't be reached just before Wednesday, so we now do it sometime next week.
Sometimes next week just isn't possible. We have to visit a school next Friday to do some interviewing there. In order to get Friday morning and noon off work, I have to work on Monday, Wednesday and Thursday. I can't work on Tuesday because our stupid Museum seminar takes place this Tuesday (it only takes place every third week, plus some Saturdays >.<). So I can't go and meet those kids on TOP of the other meet-ups. I said so about three times before Wednesday. Apparently, neither my presentation partner nor the someone heard it.

and Creative Writing... it's fun and all, and there are some brilliant people there, but for every intelligent person there are five idiots. Today, we had to sit in groups and each group had to discuss ONE character for our anthology. My group had to talk about the killer. And after we had done some talking and got rid off at least the most boring, most cliché and most stupid suggestions and written some vaguely interesting stuff, there came -
"But we have to change it. She's too human."
"What do you mean?"
"Well is she good or evil?" (the question alone! as though interesting characters could be truly good or truly evil!)
"Well, as she kills people for money, I suppose she's more on the evil side."
"So we made her too human!"
WTF?! We were supposed to give her CHARACTER. Having character kind of means being human, in some way, doesn't it? I mean, I was seriously baffled at that point (I'd been baffled more than once before that point, but THAT was the last straw). What kind of literature do these people read if they still believe, at age 25, in a Creative Writing class by the Department of English Literature, for Eru's sake, that characters have to be clear-cut good or evil, and that evil people can't be human?
*headdesks*
As my brother tends to say, "It's a good thing we're sitting right at the front of the class so we can drown out the worst of the stupid." Sadly, he's right. (We're in this class together.)

Driving through fog is interesting at this time of year, because you really see the gradual change between the fog and grey and white and the green and brown and coloured leaves while the sun is so low. I can't really explain it at the moment though I suspect it wants to be a poem eventually. You know you're really stressed out when you can't even follow these urges of writing poetry or that bloody Maedhros epic that's been gnawing on my mind for weeks now.

And when all you do is ranting.

My scanner is broken. Or rather, the scanner's fine, but the cable's dead. They're sending me a new cable on warranty, but I kind of need the scanner for my advent calendar thingy, so gnah. I can only hope the cable arrives before Sunday.

Náro likes to sit in the sink. Whenever a drop from the tap hits him, he acts all angry and tries to find the evil attacker only to be hit by the next drop. If you turn the tap on, he'll try to catch the water. It's adorable. Unless a wet-pawed kitten decides to walk over you at night.
