Happy belated Bastille Day! I got to spend it at my grandmother's 80th birthday party. I was grumpy at first because I'd planned to go to France for the weekend >:D and now I couldn't and anyway her birthday was two weeks ago so she should've celebrated last weekend. On the other hand if she'd done that I couldn't have gone to the possibly last MEF ever, so I am really glad the hotel was booked out for last weekend and she had to choose this...
... after all, the French will likely keep on celebrating the Quatorze Juillet a bit longer yet.
It was harmonious for the most part. I managed to escape having to sing Japanese folk songs without (I hope) my grandmother being offended. Most discussions went peacefully. Aunt Beate, the one I never really got along with, more and more reveals her reasonable side whenever she talks with Jörg. Perhaps she just can't handle my family. I... couldn't blame her too much for that. I love my family, but they're... special.
Too special sometimes.
I will go and hunt the (hopefully) last raspberries now. I love raspberries, but picking them is a pain. Especially if the thicket hasn't been taken care of ever since... it's grown there, really.
Well well, no rest for the wicked!
