oloriel: (wordage is our business)

By now the mini-lumbago has subsided to the feeling that someone is pressing a finger in my spine, no longer an arrow.
Which is... better.

Apologies to all those whom I offended by insinuating that a lumbago happens only to "old" people. In my family history, people had their first lumbago in their late thirties/early forties, so I expected that it would be similar for me (or not occur at all, that would have been nicest). Eh well.

Presentation today went so-so. My part was all right, I'm even fairly content with it. Presentation partners' parts were all right as well, but they kept reading stuff off their prompt cards or - worse - off the Powerpoint, and kept hiding behind the laptop. Which was not necessary, because unlike them, I was very much able to press the "next" keys. That, and some chaos with the sheet order, made our presentation not nearly as awesome as I'd hoped. Probably half the class didn't get what we were talking about.
Also why do I always have to answer questions from the professor or the audience? We were three people, for Eru's sake.
Two of whom always gave me the "you first" stare when a question came.

Eh well. Fortunately/sadly we don't get grades for our presentations, we just have to do them, so really it can be crap and a pain to listen to and the end result will be the same as with a really good and interesting presentation. :p

Boss (not M., for a change!) asked what presentation was about. Told him. Boss asked why the hell people had to look at such nonsense and do presentations on it, because where's the point? It's got nothing to do with real life, not even with history or politics.
Could not help pointing out that a zealously Catholic sermon in mid-16th century England tends to have a hell of a lot to do with both history and politics.
Did not add that at least people like me who study and analyse pointless texts know about orthography, capitalisation and the proper use of commas. (Boss shows that he doesn't in every single e-mail that he writes.)

Good grief. The Tudors may take some amazing liberties, but at least people who've watched the series have heard the words "Act of Supremacy".

Sore throat is getting better, head is beginning to ache, red wave is approaching. Totally my week, this.
