oloriel: (autumn)
[personal profile] oloriel

Well, not really. But we've had several frosty nights already (although the trees and plants in general still aren't into this whole 'autumn' thing and try to act like it's still August) as a kindly reminder to, like, stock up on de-froster and put on winter tyres and such. Yesterday, the frost was followed by beautiful sunshine, so of course I had to go out and take lots of pictures of frozen stuff.
And then I remembered that I had also taken lots of pictures on our hike to Altenberg in late September, and never shared those with you (oh, you poor derived people!).

I will correct this negligence... now.

Brace for picspam.

Clicking on the thumbnails will lead to somewhat larger pics, you know the drill.

Here we go!

September 26th
'náro is a wild tiger (secretly) Two roads diverged in a, um, green wood Lurking lamb Impromptu bridge
A secret valley Still waters run... murky Weird shadow effect Yet more woods & waters
Misunderstood forest icon #1 Weird focus More mushrooms Creepy roots
The road goes ever on... Ripple marks from the carboniferous age Let's pretend the lack of focus is intentional Still following the river
The cathedral at Altenberg It's only a model! Oh, right. It was also a indecisive weather sort of day. So we got lots of rainbows.
Rainbow with heron End of rainbow.
'Pot of gold' is obviously just a poetic way of saying 'money pit'...

October 25th/26th
Hermine, Humbert and... heron Sometimes when I'm really frustrated with my hermit-like state, I just have to take a breath camera and remind myself how beautiful this place is. The poor walnut tree didn't like the frost and shed leaves like crazy. Default valley view
Sorry apple trees The sheep that confuse people Apparently they like walnut leaves Leaves of gold
Default path view Leaves on ice Frozen blackberry Here follow lots of frozen flowers
Told you so! Okay, fruits and flowers. Roooooosebuuuuud Keeled over
You can't see anything really, but I like it Yet more frozen flowers Weirdo sunflower*, defrosting Blades of ice
The new walnut-leaf powered eco-car!
(See what I meant about the leaf-shedding? Also, guess who got to clean the road?)
Cannibal pumpkin >:D

Still with me? Well, we're done! Huzzah!

Today, of course, it's rainy and nasty. Bah.

*Why is this a weirdo sunflower? Let me count the ways. First, that big flower you see there? Opened in the NIGHT. Admittedly there was a very bright full moon that night, but come on. SUNflower. Second, my sunflowers always put that old „sunflowers turn with the sun“ truism to lie. My sunflowers look all over the place, no matter where the sun currently is, and never turn. (They've got CHARACTER!)
