We had some intense rainfalls in May (two towns in our region were completely flooded; we're lucky because we're halfway up a hill), but this year, the "Siebenschläfer" rule was pretty reliable - it was bone dry on the seventh of July, and it remained bone dry for six and a half weeks. (Should've been seven, but hey, close enough...)
It could be worse, of course - the beans can't be saved, but plenty of other things didn't shrivel up until they were ripe. Some farmers - mostly those who grow maize - are pretty hard up though.
