That's not the reason I'm posting, though. The reason why I'm posting now is that I found a well-written and intelligent article on slash fiction, including nifty links (ok, the standard, but still) - on the website of the Protestant Press Service via![[livejournal.com profile]](https://www.dreamwidth.org/img/external/lj-userinfo.gif)
frogspace's journal. Bwahahah. That's right, protestant as in protestant church. When I was preparing for my confirmation, they tought us about AIDS and how to use condoms, so I shouldn't be so surprised, but I am.
It's in German, though, so this time, my English-speaking friends miss out on the fun. I promise not to translate the neologism part, in exchange. ;) I'll translate my favorite line, though.
For example, the Star Wars prequel The Phantom Menace, that even the most avid fans consider subcomplex to put it mildly, has inspired brilliant slash epics about the Jedi knights depicted by Liam Neeson and Ewan McGregor.
Which is the point where I have to admit that I have 'shipped Qui-Gon and Obi-wan at a time when I didn't even know what slash was, or that it existed at all.

Ich sollte um diese Zeit nicht wach sein, aber ich bins halt, und da habe ich doch gerade durchfrogspace einen ziemlich guten, intelligenten Artikel über Slash gefunden, sogar mit Links (gut, der Standard, aber immerhin) - auf der Website des Evangelischen Pressedienstes. Bwahahah. Ja, evangelisch wie in evangelische Kirche. Im Konfirmandenunterricht gab es einen AIDS-Infotag und man hat uns beigebracht, wie man Kondome benutzt, also sollte es mich nicht so überraschen, aber das tut's. Da guckt. Die evangelische Kirche erklärt Slash für zukunftsweisend. Ich fühle mich so... bestätigt.

Ich muss ja auch zugeben, dass ich Qui-Gon und Obi-wan schon ge'shippt, als ich noch nicht mal wusste, dass Slash existiert und was es ist.
