Damn, I'm angry. And the day begun so well.
At breakfast, I just looked at Jörg and couldn't stop beaming. I don't know whence it came, but it was like falling in love all over again.
In Japanese, I finally got the feeling of having fully understood yari-morai-verbs. I have no idea whether that feeling is correct, but I do hope it is. I was almost high - everything was bathed in light although it was cloudy.
On my way to the Mensa, Blinova-san (whom I secretly call Lúthien because she is pretty and I don't know her actual first name and Blinova-san is so... formal) joined me and in spite of Cele waiting for me there I didn't have the heart to tell her not to come along, because I really like Blinova-san and she always helps me with Kanji I can't read. I was concerned, though, that she might be bored/ put-off by Cele's and my incessant Tolkien talk. So I steered the topic towards Japanese grammar first, sharing our joy of having understood yari-morai and explaining some of the evilness of Japanese grammar to Cele, who, being a language geek, found all that very interesting. All was fine and well when Cele began to talk about her dress (for Ring*Con) which she still hasn't finished. Blinova-san asked whether it was a dress for a Hallowe'en party, and Cele said no, for Ring*Con. Silence. I explained, "A meeting of crazy Lord of the Rings fans." Quoth Lúthien, "Ah, so I should actually be there too..."
Turns out she has read the book every year since she was nine years old (that is, 12 times). A real long-time geek. I'm a beginner against her! Who woulda thunk?*
*bows down to almighty Blinova-san*

So I was in a real good mood, especially when my Anthro seminar was over and I could return home to finally finish my costume, which still isn't ready. I was in such a good mood that I didn't mind that my train was announced to be 10 minutes late.
When, after 20 minutes, my train was cancelled altogether, my mood began to sink. But they also announced that those who wanted to take that train could take the ICE due in 10 more minutes without paying the extra fare you usually have to pay for going by ICE. Alright.
Then that ICE was announced to be 5 minutes late. By that time, my spirits were at ground level, because Cologne main station isn't the place where I want to spend half an hour when I have hundreds of things to do that I can't do at the station. Eru, give me patience; but HURRY.
The ICE finally arrived, but we had to wait 10 more minutes because only half the train was to go on to Dortmund and the other half was to be uncoupled in Cologne.
Right. Then we finally left.
And stopped about 100 meters before the train station in Solingen, because the track was still blocked. But did they let those who wanted to get off in Solingen just get off right here, where they could have walked the last 100 meters? NO. We were caught in that train and had to wait yet another quarter of an hour until the track was free again and we could finally get off.
End of story: It took me 2 hours to get from Cologne to Solingen. ARGH.

On plus side: Ring*Con tomorrow! [insert hyperactive bouncing here]
