Well, thank Eru I got to read the [livejournal.com profile] shoebox_project update before LJ crashed yesterday. *happy sigh* Which leads me to the next issue: Happy belated Birthday, [livejournal.com profile] ladyjaida!

I also got two early Christmas cards yesterday, from [livejournal.com profile] ilanalynn and [livejournal.com profile] etoilepb. Thanks a bundle! *hugs*

And Canada arrested Bush?! While that is in itself a very cool and admirable action, I can't help but wonder whether Canada has, by chance, a death wish.
'Twas nice to have known thee, O Canada, True North Strong And Free.

ETA: Meme snatched from [livejournal.com profile] kazaera:
If there is at least one person in your life who you consider a close friend, and who you would not have met without being part of an online fandom, post this sentence in your journal.

Mandos, yes.

ETA 2: Someone explain to me why Colin Firth's character in Bridget Jones II: The Edge of Reason is named Darcy. Bwahahahahah!
... I may have to watch that movie after all, despite my dislike for Renee Zellweger.

He's Darcy because in the book, Helen Fielding meant for that character to be reminiscent of Mr. Darcy from Pride and Prejudice, whom the character of Bridget was a little obsessed with (nothing wrong with that.) In the book, Bridget had a huge crush on Colin Firth, because he played Darcy. So, when Colin Firth actually took the role of Darcy, all the fans went nutty for joy.

Fun, huh? :)

Ah, I see - I haven't read the book, so thanks for clearing this up! That's rather cute...

Yay! *hüstel*

LOL, no, Canada did not arrest Bush. That was a parody (http://www.theinquirer.net/?article=20023). Hee hee, now we can all point and laugh at CNN for reporting it as a true story!

*grins* Hey, "Hope springs eternal"; would have been nice if it had been true. And I was mistaken in believing it was really CNN - it's not; it's an extremely well-done hoax site! Is that cool, or what?

Definitely - it looks like the real thing...

I was about to mention that it had to be a hoax, because I watch the news and read the paper (the Boston Globe, usually), and if it were real I'd definitely have heard about it!

Wishful thinking...

Canada arrested Bush?!?!?!
I agree with you - it's cool, he certainly deserves to be arrested, but... O.o o.O are you sure it's not April 1st today?

Just saw that last bit. Awww, too bad... it would've been cool! ;)
I was just wondering why I couldn't find anything on it on BBC!

WOW. Go Canada!

Yay, the card got there! :) It didn't have very far to go...

ahh, just saw the hoax bit. Yeah, I should have known... something would *definitely* have turned up on AFN if it were true. Oh well.

Not really - I'm wondering now, though, since you could use an American stamp for yours, do I have to use as many stamps as I would for a letter to the states, or can I just use the normal inner-German price? *confused*

I would go down to the post office and ask. There was a notice at my post office that you can send mail going to someplace in Germany through the regular postage system, and my impression was that it was a two-way kind of thing, but I'm really not sure.
