Well, they made me look up "compressed air hammer".

I really meant to be good, I REALLY did. I really meant to write most of that erudamn paper today.

However, the city of Solingen apparently didn't like that idea.
Because just as I had inished breakfast, a bunch of construction workers began working with compressed air hammers outside.
Our flat lies on the ground floor. And they were working just opposite our flat. Have you ever tried to focus on linguistic texts with that sort of noise going on outside? I have. It doesn't work.

I escaped to my parents, leaving my car at the garage on my way because of the broken exhaust pipe.
Unfortunately, it's not just the exhaust pipe that's broken.
It's also the shock-absorbers and the friction plate and the air conditioning that need repairing.
Fuck that.
There goes the rest of the money I didn't have already for, oh, our vacation, for example.

And my parents refuse to pay because I'm not working and not showing any goodwill and I still owe them the retention after my accident.

And I still have to write that paper.

Ich wollte wirklich, wirklich brav sein. Ich wollte wirklich heute den größten Teil dieser verdammten Hausarbeit hinter mich bringen.

Offensichtlich hat das der Stadt Solingen aber gar nicht gefallen.
Denn als ich gerade mit dem Frühstück fertig war, marschierte ein Haufen Bauarbeiter auf und hackten mit Presslufthammern den Bürgersteig auf.
Unsere Wohnung liegt im Erdgeschoss. Und sie arbeiteten wirklich direkt gegenüber. Habt ihr je versucht, euch bei dem Krach auf sprachwissenschaftliche Texte zu konzentieren? Ich schon. Es geht nicht.

Ich bin zu meinen Eltern geflohen und habe mein Auto unterwegs bei der Werktstatt abgegeben, wegen des kaputten Auspuffs.
Leider ist nicht nur der Auspuff kaputt.
Die Stoßdämpfer und die Bremsscheiben und die Klimaanlage brauchen auch Erneuerung.
Scheiße.
Und da verschwindet das restliche Geld, dass ich ja schon für, ähm, unseren Urlaub nicht hatte.

Und meine Eltern weigern sich, zu zahlen, denn ich arbeite ja nicht und zeige keinen guten Willen und ich schulde ihnen auch noch die Selbstbeteiligung wegen meines Unfalls.

Und die Hausarbeit muss immer noch geschrieben werden.

Compressed Air Hammer is not wrong... more often, however, in casual conversation, you'll hear 'jack hammer.'
