oloriel: (and dread the day when dreaming ends)

I worked 3 fucking hours to make my personal mood theme, and it only works partially. First time I had it all, it just ate itself up; second time, only a few random moods were working; third time, which would be now, I postpone it all until MUCH LATER.

Wanted to write a long post about my 5th and 6th grade German class, inspired by Wikipedia's featured article of the day, but guess what? Won't do it. You can all puzzle out how my German class is linked to the Eifel aqueduct all by yer onesies.

Off to bed to watch Earthsee. Don't like Ursula K. LeGuin much, so I don't expect to like it.

Bah.

Bah.

Ms. LeGuin wrote a very scathing letter to the public about how the SciFi miniseries named after her books has abolutely nothing in common with them. "The song retains the name" seems to be her point of view on them.

Thanks for the link!

Yes, the film (or, what I saw of it before I couldn't be bothered to watch it any further) sucked majorly. Random, too fast cuts, bad acting, and the all too obvious signs that it was just another "Oh, fantasy is currently on the high, so let's make another fantasy movie fast" film. Or miniseries.

I'm still not overly fond of Ursula K. LeGuin's books, but I can see how that would drive any author mad. And that letter is a very enjoyable read, although the occasion is not enjoyable; SO much better than the tirades of a certain Vampire author. Hm. Maybe I'll give her books another chance, too.
