Dear people discussing Charles' aptness for kingship on the news,

So Prince Charles and Camilla are going to marry. Good for them.
And because they're both divorced, you start wondering whether Charles should become king.

There may be various reasons why Charles might not make a good king, but what does being divorced and marrying a divorced woman have to do with it? If I may remind the English people (and the other gossipping people, too) of Henry VIII, who had not TWO, but SIX wives, and was not only twice divorced, but had two of his other wives killed. Now I don't say Henry VIII was the best king England ever had, but at any rate there doesn't seem to be a problem with kingship and divorce, seeing as he kind of introduced the procedure.

So just shut up and get a grip and don't get on me nerves.

Sehr geehrte Leute, die in den Nachrichten über Charles' Eignung für das Amt eines Königs diskutieren,

So, jetzt heiraten Prinz Charles und Camilla also. Große Überraschung. Schön für sie.
Und weil sie ja beide geschieden sind, fragt ihr euch jetzt, ob Charles dann noch König werden darf.

Es gibt bestimmt Gründe, die dafür sprechen, dass Charles kein besonders guter König wäre, aber was haben Scheidungen damit denn bitte zu tun? Wenn ich das Volk von England (und die sonstigen Lästermäuler auch, bitteschön) mal an Henry VIII erinnern darf, der nicht nur ZWEI, sondern gar SECHS Frauen hatte, von denen er sich nicht nur von zweien hat scheiden lassen, sondern zwei weitere auch noch hat köpfen lassen. Nun will ich nicht sagen, dass Henry VIII der beste aller englischen Könige war, aber jedenfalls zeigt er doch, dass es kein Problem mit Scheidungen und Königtum geben dürfte, wo er doch sozusagen das ganze eingeführt hat.

Also haltet die Klappe und reißt euch zusammen und geht mir nicht auf die Eierstöcke.

The queen looks to be in very good health. Charles probably be pretty old if he becomes king, if he outlives her at all.
