olorielIt's just one more week to the Oscars which means it's Lyra's time to ask stupid Oscar questions.
Why is The Aviator a nominee for "Best Original Screenplay"? I mean, I thought The Aviator was based on the biography of Howard Hughes. Wouldn't that make it an adaptation?
Also, The Incredibles up for "Best Original Screenplay"? WTF, people? I mean, it was an enjoyable movie, but... a Best Original Screenplay nom? Just... WTF?
This may not be a good time to say that I found Finding Nemo better than The Incredibles, actually.
Shark Tale for "Best Animated Feature Film"? Even more WTF. Was there no film they could have taken instead to fill the third spot? Didn't anyone in Japan or anywhere come up with something better? I can't believe it.
Another thing I'll never understand is how you can get nominated for "Best Costume Design" with movies set a hundred or so years ago in a realistic setting. I mean, honestly. Woooow, this or that costume designer captured the spirit of the twenties. How hard is it to look the stuff up and match it to the people. But ok, that's me being prejudiced.
In other news, it's one week until I'll be gone. If you want a postcard, now would be a good time to let me know...

Warum ist The Aviator für das "Beste Drehbuch (Original)"? Ich dachte, der Film basiert auf der Biographie von Howard Hughes. Wäre das dann nicht eine Adaption?
Und, The Incredibles ist ebenfalls für "Bestes Drehbuch (Original)" nominiert? WTF? Ich meine, der Film war nett, aber... "Bestes Drehbuch"? Ehrlich, WTF?
Das ist vermutlich auch kein guter Zeitpunkt, um festzustellen, dass ich Findet Nemo eh besser als The Incredibles fand, oder?
Große Haie, kleine Fische als "Bester animierter Film"? Noch mehr WTF. Gab es denn sonst nichts, was die dritte Lücke hätte füllen können? Hat denn keiner in Japan oder sonstwo was Besseres produziert? Ich glaub's nicht.
Was ich auch nicht einsehe: Wie man für "Bestes Kostümdesign" nominiert werden kann für einen Film, der vor so rund 100 Jahren in der puren Realität spielt. Also ganz ehrlich. Wooow, der oder die Kostümdesigner/in hat ja echt toll den Flair der 20er eingefangen. Wie schwer ist es, das nachzuschauen und den Leuten vernünftig zuzuordnen? Aber ok, vielleicht bin ich da ja auch nur befangen.
