Back to Hogwarts
Jun. 21st, 2003 08:30 pmSo this morning, the delivery guy showed up carrying at least 50 identical-looking parcels, dropping one off at my parents', and left. Yes, of course it was Harry Potter 5.
Damn J.K. Rowling. Damn her decision to chose today. I have to prepare a presentation for anthropology. Since, incidentally, it's a presentation on Magic, I can even soothe my raging conscience with the excuse that I am actually researching - am I not?
I should learn Kanji, too. I've got a lot to catch up, there. But I doubt that I will be able to do anything about that until I am on page 766 (which is the last one).
So far, I don't know yet who dies, though I have some vague guesses (my parents and my brothers have a bet running so someone pops in every 20 minutes to ask whether I finally know it), and I don't know yet what the great revelation about life, the universe and everything... I mean, Harry, Voldemort and whatever else is supposed to be. I just got to the first Hogsmeade visit.
Sorta scary, this one. But goooooood. Can't write more. Gotta read on.
Just saw there's a Latin edition of Philosopher's Stone - Harrius Potter et philosophi lapis - that sounds like a fun present for my Latin-learning friends. Heh.
*evil giggle*
