I wasn't made for temperatures above 22°C, that's all. At least not when I have to learn and concentrate on boring stuff. If there's interesting things to do, warmer temperatures are bearable; if I can rest, too. But when I'm almost falling asleep over the professor's drone anyway, the lull of 32°C isn't helping much, really.

I meant to talk about my wonderful July 14th experience in Provence five years ago, but we're invited to barbecue, so I have to hurry. Maybe later - in case you even want to hear it.
Lacking the time right now, I'll just limit myself to wishing all the French people (and, of course, the Fangirls of the Revolution *winks to coppertone*) a very happy Bastille Day.

During that boring Anthro seminar this afternoon, I suddenly felt the urge to go to Paris (about 6 hours by car from here). I should. Two years ago, I would have. But now I have exams knocking on my door and am too wise and reasonable. Not so, I lie. About the Wise and Reasonable part. But I won't go anyway.

Heh, I learned it out of fun from my mother, because I didn't yet have French in grade 7 (and there is, strangely, no Roman national anthem...). So I never got to march around to it. But it's fun, it's so much more... powerful than our own boring anthem...

...I wish I could randomly go to Paris. But I can't really randomly go anywhere except maybe Gander. That's one of the drawbacks to living on an island in the middle of the ocean. A car would get kinda wet.
