Pride and Prejudice

olorielWell, now Jörg and I have seen the new movie production of Pride and Prejudice.
It's a charming, light-hearted, fluffy, beautiful movie. It's a delightful way to spend two hours. It has pretty actorsOME MR BINGLEY!.
It is not, however, the book, and not the BBC series. Matthew MacFaden is NOT Colin Firth. And the whole movie lives because of Keira Knightley, who, admittedly, is a suitably vivacious and amiable Elizabeth.
It would be wrong to say I'm disappointed; of course they had to compress everything to fit it in a two-hour movie. And it's a really pretty two hour movie.
But you do have the faces of the 'actual' actors, who seem so much more pre-destined for their roles, in your head all the while. And things happen too fast, and you notice.And wtf, since when are the Bennets farmers, and why does it look as though they lived in Tuscany now?

So, jetzt haben Jörg und ich uns also die neuen Stolz und Vorurteil-Verfilmung angeschaut.
Es ist ein reizender, leichtherziger, fluffiger und schöner Film. Eine wunderbare Art, zwei Stunden zu verbringen. Er hat nette SchauspielerOME MR BINGLEY!.
Aber er ist nicht das Buch, und auch nicht die BBC-Serie. Matthew MacFaden ist KEIN Colin Firth. Und der Film lebt überhaupt nur wegen Keira Knightley, die aber zugegebenermaßen eine sehr liebenswerte und lebhafte Elizabeth gibt.
Es wäre nicht richtig zu sagen, dass ich enttäuscht bin. Natürlich musste man alles gewaltig stauchen, um das Wichtigste in einen zweistündigen Film zu kriegen. Und es ist ein hübscher zweistündiger Film.
Aber man hat die ganze Zeit die 'richtigen' Schauspieler vor Augen, die so viel besser in ihren Rollen aufgehen. Und alles passiert viel zu schnell, und das merkt man.Und wtf, seit wann sind die Bennets Bauern, und wieso sieht es so aus, als lebten sie in der Toskana?
