Of Mutants, Elves and Parking Lots
May. 1st, 2003 02:04 pmYay! This is probably the most busy birthday I've ever had, but so far I can manage.
It started with the X-men 2 preview yesterday, which was great - I like X2 even more than X1 except for the end, but I won't discuss what exactly I liked/ disliked now so no one is spoiled. Am I not nice? ;) Let's just say I'm looking forward to Wolverine/ Nightcrawler-slash. Yes, my preciousss, very much so. If Nightcrawler considers it a sin, oh well, Wolverine can help him with the scarring, too. *cough*
Anyway, it was cool, especially since I was in the cinema with 9 fellow LOTR freaks (go Irrenanstalt!), so we had some nice "GANDALF!!!", "Free the river" and "Good that Elves are neither Men nor mutants" moments. Afterwards we celebrated a bit at the "Crystal", with cocktails and baked taters, and of COURSE they had to sing Happy Birthday. Sooooo embarassing. But nice. *sniff* And they put me into quite a dilemma as they make me chose between the flag of Rohan and a cool metal map of Middle-earth (yay for alliterations). Hmmmm. Difficult.
Today was not quite as funny, since I had to go to practice/ some sort of rather spontaneous presentation. The usual chaos - "When do we have to be there?" - "About 12" - "Well it's 11:50, so shouldn't we..." - "... ah, don't be hectic"; then the desperate search for a parking space in front of the Tennis club where we had to do the presentation (Still don't know why- what have Tennis and Karate got to do with each other, except they're both sports?). No one really knows what to do so everyone does everything; and Claudia and I messed up our kata/bunkai presentation. Dammit. Oh, what the hell.
I just hope it gets warmer and dryer so our barbecue tonight won't be a desaster...
