At least that is good news: From tomorrow on, the days are growing longer again. For while I like the colder seasons, as I mentioned, and I don't mind summer nights, the darkness when you wake up and when you get home, those very short days, press me down a bit. Usually I cure that by chocolate, but right now, I hate chocolate for whatever reasons.

As for now, it looks like we won't have a Christmas tree. We do have one, it's lying outside on the terace; but when my dad tried to put it up, he broke the new pot he'd just bought for just this purpose. Since the old ones didn't work properly for ages, the tree is still lying out there.

But I suppose when I'll come back on Wednesday, he'll have bought a new one, or repaired this one, or whatever. But I actually looked forward to decorating the tree, and now I couldn't, and they will, of course, have decorated it without me 'till Christmas Eve.

I'm not in a christmassy mood right now, I can tell ya. No tree, had to tidy up my room because, of course, it has already returned to its healthy chaotic state, my brother didn't let me burn the damn CD I wanted to make, and I messed up my calendar for 2004 because, apparently, the gel pencils didn't write just as well as I'd planned. Tengwar and stars and trees all over my arms and desk, but only a smear on the calendar. Great. Thanks a lot.
I actually thought about giving my godchild that awful Aragorn Barbie, or Ken, or whatever. Sabrina recently discovered Barbies, after her mother tried to keep her away from this stuff, but of course, Sabrina loves them and wants to have some; and since I greatly dislike her mother, this would be an opportunity to sabotage her twice: Neither Lord of the Rings nor Barbies are things Beate finds suited for her children. So there.
But I couldn't stand the Barbie isle in that store for long. Yuck. Awful stuff.

I found books that seem to suit my purpose exactly, but they're rather expensive... still, I'll probably buy them. Hell, yeah. Now for geekdom, now for insanity, and for a whole lot of writing.

In Cimnarár's tale of days, this is the high day of Chetros, the shadow-hunter, whose reign lasts from the autumnal equinox to the day before the vernal equinox. In this world, it's Yule, so happy Yule to everyone who happens to celebrate it!

Looking forward to tomorrow.
