The results, so far.
Dec. 25th, 2003 03:00 pmWyrd Sisters, Witches Abroad and Night Watch by Terry Pratchett; Bored of the Rings (thanks, brother); A Game of Thrones; Das Papierlabyrinth; English Phonetics and Phonology; an album for collecting Euro coins.
Two pullovers, a pair of pajamas, cord pants, an Éowyn-style blouse.
A Middle-earth door-mat (whoever thought my family were intelligent... *rolls eyes*), the kinder surprise egg Golden Hall scenario (*more rolling eyes*) and an incredibly cheesy "fantasy" set consisting of a calendar, postcards and stickers (*rolls eyes again*).
Lots of chocolates, and the chocolate-covered fruit gumbears Elbereth (NOT the Valië) gave me last week.
A new tea-pot.
Pride and Prejudice on DVD.
Update: A Helium Vola CD, and a yet-empty book (with a wonderful preface).
Not bad, all in all. :)
Some last cards, one really giving me pangs of conscience because I really pretty much lost ontact with a former good friend, and she wrote a really nice card. I started to write a rather longish letter in return, because she has no internet access whatsoever and I suppose a mere phone call just won't do. (Besides, I'm better with written words than with spoken words.)
Everyone liked what I'd bought for them, or at least they pretended to convincingly. That's wonderful; I'm always rather afraid I won't find things people like, and I want to do for Christmas. I mean, Egon always gets chocolates, because that's the most easy thing and I won't find anything else he might like anyway; but for the others, I actually have to think up creative, interesting things. Seem to have been succesful this year, though.
Now my brother and I will have to teach the boys playing DSA, because we decided it's never too early to indoctrinate them and lead them on the evil path of Role-Playing And Other Evil But Enjoyable Escapism. Since Jesko just turned 12 yesterday, tonight we're going to take him and Timo to the cinema for the Return of the King, which made the lil'uns wail with envy, but what can you do.
Merry Christmas again.
