Nothing of Importance
Jan. 13th, 2004 11:16 pmBack from Depressed in Tôkyô a.k.a. Lost in Translation. Nice, but no more. I mean, I enjoyed watching it once, and it had its moments, but I don't need to watch it again, and I certainly don't agree with all those people who hailed it as the "best movie of the year" (I strongly distrust people who think they have to call a movie coming out in January by that name anyway). Yes. Very slow, very observant, sort of ragged; interesting, mildly amusing, reminding me of some books and some anecdotes, but... yes. That's about it.
I think I could bear staying in Kyôto longer than staying in Tôkyô.
Things are happening very fast right now, and though I want them too, it's still strange. Seeing as I am standing in my own way very often with my procrastination and my indecisiveness and, most of all, my pointless and inexplicable fear of strangers, people, things to do, big changes. Let's see how things develop, I might say, only I do have to take a more active part in things.
