Family Day, or so.
Feb. 21st, 2004 10:35 pmWell, the "Treasures of the Sons of Heaven" were definitely worth the visit. Amazing stuff. Just way too much. Towards the end, I lost track of all the Ch'ang ceramics and Ming porcellaine; and the European stuff was kitsch. But the Chinese collection - those calligraphies and paintings! Wish I could write and draw and paint like that. As it is, all I do is rejoice whenever I manage to recognize a few kanji (or in this context, hanzí). Beautiful paintings. Gold and china and cloisonné and jade. Fantastic. But now I'm exhausted.
Visited my grandmother afterwards, which was nice too. She's just returned from Bavaria and she's going to fly to Portugal next week, visiting relatives there.
A nice day with my family altogether. Just have pangs of conscience because I left poor Jörg alone in the chaos that is to be our flat. Bad Lyra.
My brother bought War of the Ring (and kept asking me book questions). I badly need a faster computer - I still have to play Jedi Academy and Knights of the Old Republic, and now WOTR, and I want to play Monkey Island and AoE again. But on this ancient thing?
You know, I could swear that every song I heard on the radio today contained the word "dream" or "dreaming" at least once. Every single one. Having just read The Kindly Ones yesterday, I find that rather disconcerting. Something trying to tell me somebody?
