You know what's poison for your resolve to get up at an acceptable time to learn Japanese? Two cute cats, that's what. Two cute, incredibly cuddly cats laying a siege upon your bed and protest loudly whenever you allude you might want to get up. So, remained in bed much longer than planned.
Say what they want, but in secret, the cats do rule us.

Apparently, I also missed Kyûdô practice. I thought today wasn't, but on Thursday was; seems to be the other way round. Stupid me.
I do hope I'll make it to Kendô tomorrow; am already debating with myself - "I won't be there the next two weeks, so why go there? I'll be exerting myself pointlessly" - "But I already skipped the last weeks' practice"...
I'm afraid the first voice will win...

And I still don't know about the flat in Cologne. I'd hoped to be rid of it by last week; nothing of the sort.

Also forgot a friend-that-formerly-practiced-at-my-dôjô's birthday on Saturday. Poor Julia. Managed to placate her by inviting her to the cinema tonight. We still don't know what we're going to watch, but oh well. Considering we haven't seen each other since August or so, that's going to be interesting.

Re-Watched Moulin Rouge yesterday with my brother; funny, somehow (no, not this feeling inside), to notice that when I first saw it three years ago, I knew maybe two of the songs they're covering there. Two. Of I don't know how many. By now, I knew them all. And not because I'd, obviously, seen the movie before; the original versions, and I had totally forgotten they were all appearing in that film as well...
Funny ol' world, innit?

This one I also found hilariously funny - finally a Mary Sue test that has not been engineered purely for the Gargoyles fandom... I mean, it makes me wonder whether people really answer some of these questions with yes, but if I look around in some forums or chats... yes, I guess they do.
And Subreality wasn't as original as I thought it was. Sad.

oloriel: Stitch (from Disney's Lilo and Stitch) posing after the manner of Leonardo da Vinci's Vitruvian Man. (grins)
Judging by the trailers for Peter Pan, Hidalgo, Troy, Van Helsing and Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban, I am going to spend rather a lot of time in cinemas this spring.

And while I'm talking movies, this meme ) fits in nicely.

Well, the evening with Jule was quite funny actually. We shared theories about that death(?) in Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix. She told me about her first driving lessons and her new dôjô and her birthday party which I missed. We decided for Along Came Polly because she had seen all the others that were showing except for Back to Gaya (and a German film that has an English title is always suspicious) or The Passion (and she hadn't brought her glasses so she was afraid she wouldn't be able to read the subtitles - "What did he say?" - "He said, Estne volumen in toga an solum tibi libet me videre?" - "And what does that mean?!" - "Is that a scroll in your toga or are you just happy to see me?").

Polly was funny enough, nothing you desperately have to see but nothing you're sorry to have seen either. Even more funny, however, were some guys from whatever Christian sect in the cinema foyer. They had occupied the few tables put up a sign saying "Questions about The Passion of the Christ? Do you want to talk about it?" If I weren't such a coward (and had actually seen the film) , "Oh yes, now that I've spent two hours seeing how your God had his own frigging son tortured, the first thing on my mind is joining your religion!" (Maybe I do want a Worship Melkor! t-shirt after all.)

On the drive home, Jule told me about a story she's currently writing. Something about some not yet known twin sister of Harry Potter's who has been brought up in Turkey and now her foster parents return to England and she comes to Hogwarts around Book 5 and she falls in love with Harry because they don't know they're siblings. Right. I didn't say anything about Mary Sues. I found it amusing enough that someone who detested Harry Potter one and a half year ago is now writing fanfic. She explained her mom had bought the books and she was just curious and then she couldn't stop reading. "It's like an obsession." Yes, it is. Do you want to talk about it?
