"Can we leave now?"
"Yes, wait a sec... OMG [livejournal.com profile] shoebox_project has just updated!"
"What the hell is [livejournal.com profile] shoebox_project?!"
*explains*
"You're addicted."
And so I am.

Dear Fëanor,

Well, that was the weirdest plot bunny that ever hobbled my way. Interesting, yes, but seriously weird. In a good way.
However, it would have been nice if it hadn't hobbled away after one prologue and one chapter. I have a vague idea what is going to happen in chapter 2 which is why I tried to write on, but frankly, you see I lacked actual inspiration. So please COME BACK!

Yours faithfully,
me

PS: Thanks for not killing Eärendil.

Talking about whom, I finished the Eärendil drawing yesterday. Yay.
I have come to realize that I'm very much a serial killer painter. (Probably the only way to keep me going, that.) Now that I have Fëanor and Eärendil (I'll scan him this afternoon [edit: Been there, done that, he's over at [livejournal.com profile] livingshapes]), I want to make some series including them. The question is only, what kind of series? I could make it the Four Elements, with Fëanor being (of course) fire and Eärendil being either water or air; and the others? I could make Elwing for air, but Nerdanel isn't earth. Haleth, maybe? (It should be a woman for the sake of balance, but no Valië.)
Or I might make it the Very Obvious Fate of the Silmarils Series, in which case I'd have to throw Maedhros and Maglor and maybe Melkor, Beren & Lúthien as well as Elwing into the pot. Or I just make it a big allegorical (fie, evil allegory!) series with Fëanor being Pride or Passion or both, Eärendil being Humility or Faith or Hope or both, and then whatever comes to mind next, Túrin for Fate, Beren & Lúthien for Love, yadda yadda.
Ye Tolkienists out there, any preferences, any suggestions? Because I so can't decide.

Reading Harry Potter in French was surprisingly easy, but of course, I knew the book half by heart anyway. Still, I like to tell myself that my passive French skills aren't as poor as I feared.

Either our scales are broken or I lost 3 kgs in the last two weeks. Probably sweated 'em out, bwahahah.

Olympic Games ahead, yay! Maybe this is a time to admit that I'm a mad lover of these big pompous high-handed opening ceremonies. And I actually like the Olympic thought, although it sadly doesn't work out.

Because I'm evil and snarky. And because you know that's what you, too, thought when that Uruk came running.
Stupidly, it's an .avi file so you need DIVX 5.11. [I have an .mpg but can't upload it]. Right click, "save as", watch, be amused. I didn't make it, credit goes to Michael Ley. I just watched it on Ring*Con '03. But it's still funny.
