When I'm hurrying from one building of the university to the other, I am not interested in talking to you. No, not even in taking "something to read" from you. Unless I can offer you the Flammifer of Westernesse or The Sandman: Endless Nights in return. See? I didn't think so.

Dear New Age Equivalent of George W. Bush,
I always connected 'New Age' with open-mindedness and airy-fairy attitudes, but you have succeeded in convincing me that the children of the dawning of the Age of Aquarius can be just as fundamentalist as the most rabid Catholics/ Muslims/ whatever. I don't care whether all our consciousnesses are going to broaden and all the signs are there; your consciousness, at any rate, seems rather narrow to me. And this is me saying this, not some ultra-sceptic; I'm able to believe a lot of things or at least count them among the possible, from the Ainulindalë over reincarnation to the existence of aliens, but even I'm put off by your blind fervour where I'd otherwise say "Fascinating" or "Worth thinking about". I don't even see why you get excited and try to convert the whole seminar to your particular New Age way. You're not gaining any friends when you try to push your deep truths upon us.
Look at it like this: If you're right, you can look down at us in eight years' time and say you told us so. If not, bother. Either way, can we please keep the emotions out of a supposedly scientific seminar?

In other news: Medieval Dancing was fun, although Cele got lost on her way there and found it only half an hour before she had to leave again. My makeshift robe was finished just in time (with Helen's help) and, though highly unprofessional, does its job. Am tired now. Off to The Dreaming.
