Goodbye to the belief that parents are more reliable than their children.
There's a community I'm in where we decorate books and send them to other members of the community.
About two weeks ago, I had finished my part in one such book, and since I had scanned it at my parents' and my dad was going to go to the post office anyway, I asked him to bring it there for me.
So I believed the book was sent on its way two weeks ago.
Now this morning, I went to my parents to scan another book for the same community and was annoyed anyway because my brother was on the computer with the scanner playing KotOR II and wouldn't let me use it. And to make things perfect, what do I find on the pile of out-bound letters? Yes, exactly: A rather familiar envelope I handed to my father OVER TWO FREAKING WEEKS AGO.
ARGH!
No wonder the book never arrived. And here I thought it was long on its way.
Well, the good news is, of course, that it has not been lost in transition.
But ARGH!

Well, thanks, dad. Thanks a lot.

In other news, Neil Gaiman noticed us LJ fans of his:
(Incidentally, I just learned that over 9,000 people are subscribed to the livejournal feed of this blog (http://www.livejournal.com/users/officialgaiman/). Blink. Blink. Blink. It says so at http://www.livejournal.com/syn/list.bml?page=1.) (Waves nervously at 9,368 people.)
That is somehow very cute. And it makes my spirits rise remarkably.
