Tutankhamen; General Meeting
Apr. 16th, 2005 08:51 am"Eitu ge fur Be uche!"
"Huh?"
"That's what it says over there. Eitu ge fur Be uche!"
(Actually, it was a newspaper stand that had once said "Newspapers for visitors", in German Zeitungen für Besucher...)
"Sounds like some ancient Egyptian curse. Eitu ge fur Be uche! Eitu ge fur Be uche!"
"Imhoooteeeeeep!"
"Boe a hyn neled herain dan caer menig?!"
"... Natha daged dhaer!"

"Oh look, they had earphones already!"
"*snortle* 'Hello, this Tut speaking...'"
The Tutankhamen exhibition in Bonn is really worth seeing, although it was terribly over-crowded (people-wise, not exhibit-wise). And although they don't have the great death mask there. Beautiful stuff, impressive stuff. Too many people, though, and the gift-shop is laughable, they really put anything that had anything to do with Egypt there, from Aida recordings, mummy pens, novels to "Suckankhamen", which are chocolate suckers in the shape of Tutankhamen's coffin.

The general meeting of the Kendô dôjô was terribly tedious. I think we should have been allowed to have a fire with black smoke for unsuccesful discussions and, in the end, white smoke. The conclave's nothing against us.
Halfway through the meeting, the chairman packed in his job (if he had done that earlier, many of the discussions wouldn't have been necessary), which led to a lot of important votes at half past 11 pm. We even had to use the telephone joker because the nominee for the post of vice chairman was at the European championships. So he was called, asked whether he'd take the job if he were elected, and the first chairman was someone new so he didn't have to fear working with the old one. Yes, Dominik said, he'd accept, and by the bye, the German women's team had won the first place against Hungary. (PH34R German women in Asian sports. PH34R them, I say.)
Well, new chairmen and big tournaments ahead; we'll see how it turns out.
