[hereon in, I shoot without a script ---]
So. Things are prepared as far as possible; the flat has been brought into a state that can, with some goodwill, be considered Christmasly cleanliness (except for the kitchen); my desk is in disorder, but it always is; the tree stands and has been decorated, rather puristically, with nothing but red candles and straw stars. The meat is cut, the fries are fried, the salad is prepared, the dessert cooling, and the fat for the fondue heating.
Now begins the enjoyable part of Christmas eve.
Thanks to all who left kind words on yesterday's post - they were much needed and appreciated. Don't worry too much; I have a breakdown like this every Christmas Eve eve, apparently.
Now, a merry Christmas, frohe Weihnachten, joyeux Noël, kurisumasu omedetou, mele kalikimaka and so on and so on. May your celebrations be joyful, your banquets delightful and your presents plentiful. All the very best!
To those who don't celebrate Christmas: A happy [insert holiday of choice]! To those who celebrate nothing at all around this time: Have a lovely weekend!
