When Jörg and I returned home after visiting his mom yesterday, suddenly he wondered what was wrong. I first didn't know what he meant, but then he pointed out that all the streetlamps were dark. (I hadn't noticed because they're never that bright, and the street had just come out of the forest which is always dark at night.) But then we came to Unterburg, and all the houses were dark too; here and there, we could see some lit candles through the windows, but that was all. It was really spooky; this is what the village must have looked like every night 200 years ago, of course, but we're just not used to that anymore. You practically expect werewolves to jump out of the forest on either side of the road (...actually, it was just visitors of the brothel trying to make their way back along the crash barriers), or zombies or something.
When we drove up the mountain, we eventually saw lit lamps again, and Solingen was completely normal.

Today we learned that someone had climbed onto one of the power poles at the train station in Lennep. Now that's exactly where the transformer station for the area is. And Some Guy was trying to get fried ontop the power pole.
Naturally, police and fire brigade were alarmed. And what did they have to do to get the (apparently suicidal) guy down from the pole? Exactly - cut off the power supply linked through that pole.
The result was a one-and-a-half hour blackout in Remscheid (including Lennep and Lüttringhausen), Wermelskirchen, Dabringhausen and Burg.

Not bad for one single person.
That's gonna get expensive...

Miyagi: ... now you're the husband I always wished for. But now I'm dead. That's life.

Right.
