Veldenz 06, a week after
Jun. 10th, 2006 08:07 pm--- the Finnish word for apocalypse is, apparently, tuomiopäivässä. Yes, I know, you all wanted to know that.
This is not why I'm posting. I'm posting because I finally got the Veldenz photos. Of course, I'm too lazy to type up an actual report now (besides, nobody wants to read that anyway. Or do you?), but I'll give you the photos (and the usual peanut commentary) so you'll get an idea anyway. Right? Right!
Day One (Friday, June 2nd)
The entrance of the castle, at sunset
And this would be the whole castle, seen from the log huts. They were obviously on a budget when they built this, so wherever they could use the landscape, they integrated it into the building. The tower, for example, is really just a steep hill with a wall on top.
Landscape, with weird demonic light.
Conny, throwing his name into the Goblet of Fire.
Rhesa, eating bread onna stick.
The obligatory fire photo
I have no idea what's going on here.(
nefantoiel,
andalataiel, Ench and Pala)
Day Two (Saturday, June 3rd)
Rumo and Angathonion, the male members of our rallye group (the Goblet of Fire hath spoken!)
Varda, Cele and I did some archery. After a lot of failed attempts, I actually hit bull's eye. This is photographic proof.
The woman of many faces(
tzaaihta, a.k.a. Aditu Peredhel, a.k.a. Draco Aquis, a.k.a. Tzaaihta the Drow, a.k.a. Gil-galad, a.k.a. Snape, a.k.a. Some Orc, and I'm sure I forgot some here :))
Indiana
rahja (my partner in crime, i.e. the other female member of our rallye group)
The castle from within. Again, you can see the economically correct way of building only where the landscape isn't castle-y already.
Olli and his fold-away Palantír (Oh, btw, this guy is the jeweller who made the first German replicas of the LOTR stuff. And our wonderful medaillon. Yay!)
I made a flower wreath! Here worn by
nefantoiel.
tzaaihta: Wild men believe in Flower Power.
Shaya haben wir einen Bären aufgebunden... Ok, there's this German saying literally meaning "to tie a bear to someone". It means that you pull someone's leg. Obviously, the pun doesn't work in English, but still...
NAZGÛL!
Smea a.k.a. G to the M
Lot 666 then: A chandelierin pieces
Gratuitious artsy stuff
Kysi preparing Absinthe. It was disappointing. It tasted like cough syrup and didn't do a thing.
More fire
Day Three (Sunday, June 4th)
HARD! ROCK! EGLERIO!
Fruit is good for you! (
nefantoiel,
andalataiel,
tzaaihta as The Orc In The Background)
Nim, pretending to be all innocent and harmless.
Blair Witch Madiel.
My orc friend (
tzaaihta and
nomi_chan as un-pimped Aragorn)
Getting ready for filming (Smea as Agent Elrond, Merry as make-up designer
We even got a bluescreen!
The movie crew in what used to be the "information room" (i.e. the torture chamber)
Full cast of Pimp My King (from left to right: back row:
tzaaihta, Smea, Shaya,
nomi_chan, Poison, Anga; front row:
rahja, Cele)
Munchkin! (Varda, Pala,
andalataiel and Rhesa, with
rahja in the back)
It's hard to see, but the lower one is my Gondor banner.
Moi as Gil-galad (Armour by
tzaaihta. I don't usually look that haughty, I just had the sun in my eyes.)
I have no idea how that happened, but it's an interesting effect.
Guess the movie. (Conny as Shrek, Kysi as Fiona)
View to the West
View to the East
The meat was eaten, the marinade remains.
Are we there yet? (Rhesa as Donkey)
Ships? What ships? We didn't see any ships...
Day Four (Monday, June 5th - Pentecoste)
The remains of theday weekend
Rent an orc!
For...
The Golden Hall after tidying up
- this photo was actually taken in the same hall in 2003. But it's one of my favourite photos, so here it goes.
There. Questions? XD

In other news, if I can't finally reach my presentation partner, I'll be in trouble. Bloody idiot.
