Kitten Update

They're learning to walk. And learning to fall and roll. As soon as I find out how to make a video with this thing, I'll post one of their walking attempts. It's adorable. I swear you can see their little faces scrunched up in concentration.
Just now, Fëanáro-the-kitten was half-falling asleep when he apparently saw his own flailing front paw and tried to catch it. He did, eventually, triumphantly sucking his thumb (or whatever you call that sidely forefinger with cats). Then Mr Darcy wanted to partake in the triumph and got flailed at, which animated him to chase his brother's paw himself. Good thing they don't have teeth yet. I do need to find out how to film them, though...
They turned two weeks old yesterday, though, which certainly calls for photographic kittenspam.
So, here you go...
I got a cat in my lap and I'm not afraid to photograph it.
Errant* kitten
My preciouses.
Hwæt!
...what?
You can't see me.
Hey, that's my loot!
Kinslayings have to be practiced from a young age.
But really, we're just cute and fluffy!
I am lion, hear me roar!
Oh mom stop that, I can lick myself. :p
But I am le tired.
Pride and... hunting instincts, really.
If you're lying in my way, prepare to be overrun.
... this is what happens when you photograph a cat without flash. (actually, these are all without flash, and you don't want to know how many I had to throw out because they looked like this or worse. Which also explains the... crappy colours in some of the pics.)
Escapism!
Young man, where do you think you're going?
Ignore them, dear, they'll go away by themselves.
... dammit, human, are you still there?!
I tell you, you took this picture already.
Home, sweet home.
This is what a content kitten looks like.
Moooom, we're clean already!
That's it, I'm going.
Shakira says you're staying.
*glare*
Aaaand because I don't have anything better to do, I'll post the recipe of the Chili Chicken I cooked for Jörg's birthday on Monday, too. Because I can. The fainthearted may not want to try this at home, because it's hot, but you're missing something... (ETA: Done.)
I met
leany75 yesterday, which was lovely and will have to be repeated soon. She bought me beading stuff! I've been messing with it all yesterday evening, disturbed often by the cat who seems to be of the opinion that anything long and swaying has to be hunted. So far, she hasn't managed to tear the thread, but I don't want to risk anything, so I'll have to limit work to the times she's sleeping or nursing.
Speaking of work... -but I don't want to jinx it.
ETA: ...
elfy, could I somehow talk you into sending me the Pavane Neuve, or however the damn thing is spelled? *puppy eyes*
*Speaking of "errant", that reminds me of something that bugged me about a novel translation. A Star Wars novel, actually. I don't know how many people know the Errant Venture? Booster Terrik's Star Destroyer? Thepink bright red one? That's the one. Anyway, in the German books, they translated her name as Botengang - which would be Errand Venture...
And when I noticed that, I was in grade 11. One should assume that a professional translator would notice it, too. But then, one should also assume that a professional translator would translate "may" as subjunctive, not as part of a name... *grumbles*
