Happy belated birthday,
menegroth!
And apologies for not congratulating you earlier.
We visited the photo exhibition of different Buddhist statues in Japan in class today. I particularly loved a portrait photo of a Kudara Kannon from the Horyû-ji, who looked very lifelike (despite being of the "old", more primitive style) and seemed to smile whimsically and slightly amusedly. Other favorites were a taishô, a temple guard, depicted in the middle of shouting some command, with wide-open eyes and mouth and spiky hair standing on end, and two statues of monks with very serene, kind faces.
And now I edit the past weeks' kittenspam. Because this journal is run by kittenspam anyway.
