- well, damn. I had been hoping they'd have to push over that stupid "no women on the throne" law after all, but no such luck. (It's only been in effect since 1889, btw. STOP TELLING ME IT HAS ALWAYS BEEN THUS SINCE HISTORY BEGAN, BECAUSE IT HASN'T.) Well, welcome to the world, little as-yet-unnamed imperial princling. Actually, I'm rather curious how you'll be named in the end. Something-hito, I guess, at least once you come of age; the Japanese imperial house is almost as predictable as the house of Finwë...

- Is it just me, or did Natascha Kampusch look like she was listening to the other voices in her head every now and then in that interview yestereve? I mean, I only saw excerpts, but sometimes it really looked as though she was pondering whom to send forward to talk. Not that I blame her; I suppose after what she experienced, something like that would be among the survival strategies. I'm just wondering whether it's just me.

The woman who did yon Japanese birthday went to my high school. No joke. When she married the crown prince my school started swarming with Japanese tourists. I was in 9th or 10th grade I think.
