... like this? Seriously - it's not the lack of snow that's so disturbing (we've rarely had White Christmasses here, even though we tend to get a few days of snow at some point before Christmas), but the BLOSSOMING CHERRY TREES. In Remscheid, Rhinish Siberia, of all places. I KID YOU NOT. Not on, nature, not on.

Spent an hour waiting for a professor's office hours just so she'd approve of my presentation group's reading list because apparently she can't do that via e-mail.
Spent two hours waiting for another seminar that I didn't go to in the end because my presentation partner had to work after all.
Bought a christmas tree. Inna pot. He's now sitting in the bathtub so he's safe from the kittens. He's called Ivar because I thought he needed an Ikea name. I may re-name him to Bertilak, though.
Still don't have all Christmas presents for the family.
Still haven't posted the cards, though I'm finally done writing them.

Speaking of cards, though: Thank you for your lovely cards, [livejournal.com profile] erestor, [livejournal.com profile] rahja, [livejournal.com profile] leany75 and [livejournal.com profile] mirien!
I'm afraid my cards will be Between the years cards rather than Christmas cards. Oh well.

I can't wait for the holidays. Even with having to work between the years. And this year can't end enough - even though I suspect that this "Once the year is over, everything will be better" belief of mine is utter nonsense. For one, once the year is over, I'll have to start writing term papers, finish the museum project and do another presentation. Better? Hah! At any rate, it's just a calendar thing. Still...

It's just a calendar thing, but it's not wrong to try and start the new year with some optimism.

As for blossoming cherry trees - that bush-tree-whatever-plant-thing in front of the hole's window is blossoming as well. So much for winter.
