Despite having grown up in the countryside, I have never in the past 24 years witnessed baby birds being thrown out of their nests.

In the past week, I got to see it twice. There was a baby bird chucked out of some nest on the cliffs in Veldenz - tiny, very very young, unfeathered - that died soon. And today there was a baby titmouse that either fell or jumped out of a nest in the cover panel of our house.

It's not quite so tiny and feathered enough to recognise it as a titmouse even if we hadn't seen the parentals fly to and fro the nest before. They completely ignored the precocious chick, though.
After five or so hours of watching it fade it was time for us to go home, and as it was still breathing (albeit weakly) and we couldn't bring ourselves to either kill or leave it, we took it along to the flat.

Well, for the moment it seems to have recovered; it has eaten some seeds and shat on my hand (so we can assume it could digest the seeds) and kicked. Very precocious indeed.

I hope he/she/it makes it. >_>

I have a lot of other things to tell, but I'm too tired, so we'll forget about that leave that for another day of massive picspams and even more massive texts.

Awwww... poor birdies :(
It's not uncommon for little birds to fall down from their nests. Sometimes because they just fall or sometimes because their older sibling push them off the nest. I once found a little birdie in my yard and took it inside. I gave him fruit and seeds, but he was still in the phase when they have to be fed by mom. It survived a day and then died, probably of cold. My poor birdie :'( I had even named him: he was named Earnest.

I hope your bird makes it, really. By the way... how is it making it with all your cats >__>?

Awwww. Birdy! *hearts*

All the best of luck to the wee feathered friend!

And don't worry about the picspam. You've got enough to do at the moment, methinks.
