I'll be gone to the Drachenfest from today until Sunday. Behave, y'all, and hope that my insane character doesn't develop any more crazy ideas. (She has decided already that she's leading a double life, so I'll practically have to run around playing two characters. One of them is male. Hah hah.) I hope I'll still find my journal here when I come back...

... speaking of which: Perhaps this might be interesting to those of you who want to archive their journal just in case but who - like me - are too lazy to c/p every single bloody entry...

... also, the bloody Helcaraxë painting is done. As usual I fail at light (or its absence), but if I try to correct it now, I'll just ruin the whole thing, so it'll have to be as it is.

LJ book is brilliant. I've used that to back-up my journals at the end of every year so far, and it's really good to know that I won't be losing anything I care about :-)

Eh, hab ich noch nicht drüber nachgedacht. Vielleicht, wenn ich es auf A3 gedruckt kriegt. Original ist es A4, das ist so klein... und ich wollt schon mein Silmarillion einreichen und eine Geschichte für den Writing Contest...

I was talking to elfy today on IMs, and we were talking about how much better her English has become, through keeping her journal mostly in this language. And I mentioned that it's often hard to tell that English isn't your native language... she thought I should tell you. So, um, I'm telling you. 8)

Although I think it's not so much the journal-keeping as the thinking. I do a lot of reading in English, my reading generally influences the mysterious channels of my brain, and thus, most of my thinking actually takes place in English. Which in turn makes it easier to keep my journal in English than in German, but that's a result rather than the cause of my fluency in the language...

Das versteh' ich. Als ich in Göttingen wohnte, ich hab' Deutsch immer gespröken, und danach, sogar meine träume waren auf Deutsch. Es ist ein bischen schlecter bekomt jede jahr danach.
