And here I was thinking that I'd see some pretty football in the finals. Both the Netherlands and Spain are capable of playing properly, right? Instead there's just incessant fouling and it's really nasty fouls, too. WHAT IS THIS SHIT.

I am suddenly very, very grateful that "Jogi's boys" didn't have to play in this game. This is no fun at all, this is just disgusting, and I really had expected better. I'm DISAPPOINTED.

Ok, at least it's over, and I hadn't thought that I'd root for Spain in the end but GOOD. GRIEF. That was just disgusting. The fouling. And the selfishness. And the bloody complaining to the referees. Undignified mess all around. Just depressing. And Spain was a wee bit less disgusting.

Unfortunately, I think most of the World Cup was very, very much sub par. No idea why. Still, I'm not surprised at all. Neither Spain nor the Netherlands played really "well" so far in the tournament, think.

I only consciously watched Spain in the semi-finals match TBH, but there they played "well" enough. As far as I can discern this, with no actual football savviness. Don't see why they shouldn't be expected to do at least as well in the finals.

*g* That's pretty much the only game I did not watch. But I think the commentator just said something like: They played well against Germany, but that was their best so far. And my dad has been complaining about the "boring Dutch team" since their first game. So, well, I did not expect a feast. I'm happy I saw such a great game yesterday, though.
