I have: a nasty headache and clogged paranasal sinuses (I suspect there's a connection...).

I have not: motivation to learn any more for the fucking exam on Saturday. I should, though, because I suck at remembering theoretical background stuff and that's the sort of crap my next examiner wants to hear read.
Speaking of which,

I have: a professor I can't stand and personally believe to be incompetent as my next examiner. Fun times.

I have not: even the slightest idea what to give my various family members for Christmas. Then again, I haven't yet given the matter much thought, due to exams and such. Perhaps I'll be flooded with great ideas come next week? >_>

I have: the date of my oral examination. January 14th. Could be worse.

I have not: felt awake for a while. It's absurd, really, because I can currently sleep as long as I want except on exam days, and I often sleep 10 hours, and I still feel tired all the time.

I have: developed some sort of nervous reaction to black tea (yes, even with milk in it). My great solace! And now it makes me queasy! This is not fair.

I have not: had my period in November. That doesn't necessarily mean anything as my period also stayed away during the Abitur exams and the Intermediate Exam in English (first and worst of the three), so it might just be one of my body's normal reactions to exam!panic. Still, should probably investigate further. After the exams.

I have: insulted a good friend in chat yesterday because I'm so tired of hearing "Oh don't worry, you'll ace that exam". Problem is, the people who normally say that are the people who afterwards (when it turns out my worries were justified ;)) are liable to be all "Aw, what went wrong?" THE THING I HAVE BEEN TELLING YOU ALL THE WHILE. This friend, however, isn't the type, so it wasn't really fair to bitch at him.
(I suppose he can feel flattered in that I was more honest to him than I am to my parents and grandmother. :p)

I have not: a warm house. I feel bad lighting a fire this early in the day, but it's bloody cold outside so it may be unavoidable. Brought to you by: Yet another year in which we didn't get around to insulating the walls properly. In part brought to you by: Our carpenter, who thought it was a good idea to stop his buzz saw with his thumb...

I have: wasted 45 minutes on this LJ entry. Stupid.

Some fun for the afternoon, however: If you understand German, go to Fangeplapper. A hilarious collection of German-language fanfic (and, occasionally, poetry) bloomers. I'm not sure what I love more, the actual quotes or the subject lines, but I've been laughing A LOT. So if you need something to brighten your day and feel a lot better about your own writing... go there. No in-depth understanding of the respective fandoms necessary. Sporfle warning.

Oh dear, it is all nerves. Go make yourself a lovely hot chocolate and watch a favourite movie for a couple of hours.

Sadly, my German was below the required level to read the funnies you recommended. I will add "Learn German properly" to the list of things to do before I die, but I'm afraid it won't be the item at the very top...

No time for movies, sadly. I'm bad at learning anyway, but I'm worse without daylight, so I have to use what little this time of year grants us...

Hot chocolate sounds like a good replacement for the treacherous tea, though. :)

Sometimes, faced with a big exam, I found it was most productive to completely switch off for a few hours instead of struggling with the rising panic while nothing stuck to my brain. Then everything seemed much easier when I turned back to studying. But that's me.

Enjoy the chocolate!

Technically, yes - but I've permitted myself too much switching off in the past week to be able to still do that. Exam on Saturday, today is Thursday, three unread books: Priorities are no longer up to me. >_>

I did. It was GOOD. ^^

First: *hugs*
Second: Exam time is nerve grating extraordinaire. I'm sure your friend understands.
Third: Eep period. Mine does this too and it doesn't help it happens when you are already stressed. Hot baths helped sometimes.
Fourth: Thanks for the linking ^^

First: Thank you!
Second: He probably does. It's just that I hate it when people turn into bitchy, panicky wrecks during exams, so naturally I hate it morey when I do it ;)
Third: Well, it kind of does help - absence of cramps and blood is good! - if not for the wondering. Though at this point in my life I am not worrying much even if it should be for, you know, the other reason. Just as long as there's no morning sickness - THAT really wouldn't help...
Fourth: You're welcome! Thanks for the cheer ;)

I don't really hate it I just ... expect it? As long as people realise that they have lashed out, everything is okay, and you obviously did.

The two times I wondered I got a test because otherwise I would have just made myself mad with wondering.

Until Saturday afternoon, I don't really care either way; I think knowing would be more likely to drive me mad ^^ After that, I'll get one. If only to establish whether the "Hurrah the written exams are over" party may contain alcohol...

Hot chocolate is a really good idea - remember it's supposed to be good against Dementors! Perhaps you might also consider Rooibos (Rotbusch), until your stomach calms down? Unless you tend to have that in the office as well? It does have the advantage that you can put milk in it, which helps to disguise that it's not tea.
Sorry to hear about your insulation problems - that seems so wrong to me. Bad insulation is a standard feature of UK housing (in fact, there are British people who are firmly convinced that good insulation is extremely unhealthy), but such things are not supposed to happen in Germany!
All the very best for the run-up to Saturday!

Not a big fan of Rooibos and I kind of overdosed on that before the Anthropology exam ^^ Now if I still had the "Rooibos Spicy Chai" mix I used to have.. then again, the spicy probably wouldn't agree with my stomach anyway. >_>

in fact, there are British people who are firmly convinced that good insulation is extremely unhealthy

Well, it can be if people fail to air their houses properly, as of course then humidity stays safely inside and all those mould spores have a party behind one's furniture ;) But no, we have a lot of badly insulated houses as well. It's especially bad when your predecessors effed up a lot of the house renovation. One of our problems, for instance, is that our lovely competent predecessors wanted even walls in the living-room. They achieved this by removing all the 17th century clay, straw and brushwood filling (which, natually, was not even), nailing plasterboard on the beams, and putting wallpaper on it. Yes, the walls are nice and even now. They are not, however, keeping warmth in and cold out (or the other way round, in summer...).

Thank you!
