Or: New stairs for the House of Stony!

In two variants - a TL;DR version for those who think 20 pics + commentary are booooring, but are curious anyway, and a loooong version for the really curious people among you.

There is obviously something missing between 2009 and 2011: After we'd removed the stairwell and the pantry behind it, of course we re-installed the stairs. Just about a meter and a half further away from where the foot originally was. As the foot of the stair couldn't be moved along, that meant that for almost two years, the uppermost stair was twice as high as the rest. (Doesn't feel like almost two years. How time flies!) I don't think we ever took a photo of that, though. We certainly forgot to take a "before" shot before we removed the old stairwell for good...



So that's the short version. Long version is in progress and will follow shortly.

Die neue Treppe sieht spitze aus! Der ganze Flur natürlich auch. Das Ganze wirkt gemütlich, warm und zeitlos. :)

Werdet ihr wieder eine Speisekammer einbauen? Das ist so ein langgehegter Traum von mir ... eine Speisekammer *seufz*

Eher so eine Art Vorratsschrank - aber ja, der Platz unter der Treppe soll jedenfalls wieder zur Lebensmittelaufbewahrung genutzt werden.

Die eigentliche Speisekammer ist aber für den Vorraum der Waschküche geplant - da kommt dann alles hin, was auf längere Sicht bevorratet wird (u.a. auch eine größere Tiefkühltruhe, im Moment haben wir nur so ein Winzding mit drei Fächern, das seit meiner Rotkohlorgie im Herbst komplett voll ist >_>). Dann wird im Haus alles aufbewahrt, was in absehbarer Zeit (oder regelmäßig) gebraucht wird, und in der Speisekammer alles andere.

Ich bin beeindruckt von euren Heimwerkerkünsten. Ich kann ja gerade mal einen Nagel in die Wand schlagen oder ein Billy Regal aufbauen, aber das sieht echt spitze aus!

Hihi, als wir hier eingezogen sind, war ich da genauso. IKEA-Sachen zusammenbauen, klar, mal ein Bild aufhängen, klar - aber alles darüber hinaus habe ich erst in den letzten vier Jahren gelernt. Was man so alles kann, wenn man muss... :D

Jörg dagegen war schon immer so wahnsinnig. Der hat sich schon mit 14 eine Römerrüstung aus Karosserieblech gebaut *g*
