There's one thing I'm going to say about OMG THE WEDDING OF THE YEAR! I didn't watch it - by the time I admitted to myself that I was sort of curious and that I'd probably regret not watching it and turned on the TV, they were just about to leave the balcony, good timing there, Lyra - except for the final five minutes, so I can't say anything about the ceremony and the guests etc etc etc., but I am going to say something about the bride, which is THIS:

Thank GOD she looked (aside from being the sort of thin that verges on unhealthy) reasonably natural! No insane amounts of make-up, no absurdly elaborate hairstyle, just a little dab here and long (mostly) open hair there. As royal weddings have a tendency to inspire others, perhaps that means we'll have to see fewer brides so covered in face-plaster and styling mousse and hair-pins that they look like painted dolls rather than like people because everyone thinks that's the way it's gotta be. NO IT DOESN'T. So I'd certainly approve if that royal fashion caught on. ARRRR.

Nice point about the makeup.

It's doubtlessly made easier because she's pretty enough to look good without much paint - but then, many of the brides you see would be pretty without make-up, and still they think it's necessary to get professional overblown make-up for their wedding because everyone does. :D

She does her own make-up, they were saying, even for the wedding, and does not use much. Not sure about her hair, (most brides have stylists I think, and she probably did) but I agree, it looked lovely down.

Good for her! :)
Can't go wrong with long open hair, really.

Hahahahhaa I love your icon!
I liked how the bride looked, too. She looked simple and elegant.

I have exactly one thing to say about the wedding myself:
The cake was awesome.

And that's it.

It was epic (http://newsdina.blogspot.com/2011/04/wedding-cake-prince-william-and-kate.html).

(I don't think they did show it on TV, since I'm not sure they covered the reception at all. But I can't know for certain, since I didn't watch. (I did consider it, but the Royal YouTube Channel told me I needed to install a different flash player, and that's where I thought "ihr mich auch" and left.) I looked at pictures on the interwebs later and the cake just struck me, so I went looking for more pictures of that.)
(I don't get the whole blabla about the dress. And I do love talking about dresses. But this time I'm just... yeah, looks nice. But look at the cake! :D)

WOW.

Probably it's pure sugar and tastes of nothing but fat and... well... sugar... but it DOES look epic. And yeah, it really excels the dress. ^^
