Ok, everything I said about not being excited about the Hobbit movie? Now officially no longer applies.
This actually looks awesome. All of it.
(Though the singing dwarves (sic!) are my favourites.)

I wasn't really excited either, but I am now. The singing Dwarves were my favourite part too. I can't judge either because I have had a tiny crush on Thorin since I first read The Hobbit, despite being an Elf fangirl to my fingertips and not being a Dwarf fan particularly.

I didn't really care all that much about any of the dwarves in the book (I think I had too much Disney imagery in my head), least of all Thorin (despite my tendency to otherwise fall for men with an obsession for rare and shiny jewels ;)) - but hot damn, he's really pretty in this incarnation.

Lovely dwarf song but I don't like the photography style - the figures all look like cutouts, over sharpened, and all the environments like computer graphics, even when I *know* they're not. Must be an artifact of the 3d->2d conversion but I don't like it. It seems unreal in a way that the LOTR movie trilogy definitely did not.

The funny thing is, when I showed the trailer to my husband on my laptop and thus sat kind of sideways instead of right before the screen, it actually looked threedimensional. And without stupid glasses or headaches, too!

... even though that little Voice of Tolkien Geekitude keeps whispering "Fili and Kili are supposed to be blond with blue cloaks, dammit; doesn't Peter Jackson even read the character descriptions?". I don't care: hopefully hot raven-haired Kili will make up for not-hot, not raven-haired not-Boromir.

And yeah, somehow most of the dwarves look more Númenorean than Dwarvish. On the other hand, I'm ok with everything that doesn't give off a "Hi Ho" vibe. (Which may be part of why that song thrilled me SO MUCH!)
