So this morning at dA, I find a comment on the gift art I made for hhimring a while back:

Wow! The Tempered Steel is a thing I translated into Russian - at least half of it. I did it for my personal fun without meaning to share it with anyone... I chose it because it was the best fiction on this theme I could find. So - this is you! )) Regards!

Actually, I initially read no further than into Russian because after that my brain melted. OMG. OMG I have been translated. BE STILL, MY WRITERLY HEART. Dear previously unknown Russian fangirl, no need to justify yourself. HAPPY LYRA IS HAPPY.

That is so very cool! I had a completely obscure Harry Potter fic of mine translated into Chinese and a Merlin ficlet is on some Italian website the link to which I have lost. I would take a Russian translation of any of my Silmarillion ficlets over those any day of the week!! Congrats.

Actually, I'm happy that anything of mine has been translated (and that I learned about it). It's like another step on the way to "I am a real writer, damnit!" cred! (Other steps would be "My story has been fanficced" or "My story got fanart" - well, actually, the latter has almost happened, so more squee!)
Well, ok, I'm extra thrilled that it's my Opus Magnum iP - mostly because it's so frickin' long, though, so that takes some serious dedication!
