After just having shared a train with a bunch of royalty, among them Hatshepsut, Louis XIV (at least I think it was supposed to be him), the Frog King, Elizabeth I, Elizabeth II, Aragorn, Julius Cesar, Barbarossa (no, not Barbossa) and several undefinable kings, princes and princesses, all armed with musical instruments or at least their voices, all playing and singing the usual suspects, I gotta say that these days in Cologne, I suppose you either go crazy, go along or go away. That's all.

Nachdem ich gerade eine Straßenbahn mit einem Haufen gekrönter Häupter geteilt habe, unter anderem Hatshepsut, Ludwig XIV (zumindest nehme ich an, es sollte der Vierzehnte sein), dem Froschkönig, Elizabeth I, Elizabeth II, Aragorn, Julius Cäsar, Barbarossa (nein, nicht Barbossa) und diversen undefinierbaren Königen, Prinzen und Prinzessinen, die alle mit Blasinstrumenten oder auch ihren Stimmen bewaffnet waren und die ganze Fahrt über die übliche Karnevalsmusik geschemttert haben, muss ich mal sagen, dass man dieser Tage in Köln entweder Amok läuft, mitläuft oder wegläuft.

@.@ wow... Should I ask how you ended up sharing a train with all of them? (Or how they all got to be together in the first place?)

Wish there were interesting things like that around here. Maybe I should join that "Glamourbombing" community after all...

It's actually quite simple. Right now, it's Carneval season here, and Cologne is one of the centres of the whole celebrating thing. Tradition demands that you dress up for Carneval; some people just do it for fun, but others (especially in the big Carneval cities, such as Cologne) go in groups with one topic and take part in parades. Obviously, I had stumbled upon a group that had "royalty" as their topic, and I met them on their way to one of the parades... that's all.
